Our Projects

At Project Bawari, we are restoring Rajasthan’s ancient stepwells, ensuring water security and preserving cultural heritage. By combining traditional knowledge, community participation, and sustainable restoration techniques, we have successfully revived two stepwells—bringing clean water access to thousands.

Smart Water Monitoring

Bridging Heritage and Innovation
At the core of Project Bawari’s tech-powered mission is our custom-built IoT water quality monitoring device. Designed to preserve the integrity of restored stepwells, the device continuously tracks vital parameters such as pH, temperature, turbidity, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen.

This Wi-Fi-enabled system transmits real-time data to a secure cloud platform, accessible via mobile phones and computers. If any value crosses a critical threshold, the device automatically triggers alerts to local authorities, ensuring immediate action to protect community health.

By uniting traditional water heritage with modern innovation, the device helps transform each bawari into a reliable, climate-resilient, and community-managed water source—ensuring safety, sustainability, and smart stewardship for generations to come.

Sarjoli Chul Ki Bawri
  • Revived from neglect to a functional water source for another 3,000+ people.
  • Community-led restoration ensured long-term maintenance.
  • Conducted heritage awareness programs to promote stepwell conservation.
  • Strengthened partnerships between local schools, artisans, and village councils.
What’s Next?

We are now preparing to restore Bhairo Ji Ki Bawri in Amer, a stepwell with the potential to transform water access for an entire village. Through this, we aim to:

  • Hire local artisans and water conservation experts.
  • Fund essential materials for cleaning, repairs, and long-term preservation.
  • Organize heritage sensitization programs to reconnect communities with their water heritage.
  • Restore ritual and religious practices by reviving the stepwell’s cultural significance.
